Men of War 2 Quick Summary Review:
Men of War 2 has a decent game, but it’s not the best. The single-player is great, but the team’s focus is multiplayer. The game traded in its gritty semi-realistic appeal to fast-paced arcade World War 2 gameplay, which does not mesh well with the micromanagement inherent to this series. It’s not a great presentation, with old graphics and a terrible sound. Its saving grace is its campaigns and operations. Does it justify the $44.99 price tag? It depends on what you are looking for.

The Singleplayer Is Fun
Homeworld 3 is not the only game that has a saving grace. The single-player campaign modes are also excellent and varied. They even put Homeworld 3 in the shade. Men of War 2 is a fantastic game with its three campaigns. From the desperate defenses down to the last person to massive assaults on open fields, night raids, and escort missions, it’s a great game. Also, they were kind enough to include six bonus missions. You can see that there is a great deal of content. These scenarios will please those who like Men of War but want a more single-player experience.
It’s Micromanagement Heavy
Every Men of War game is micromanagement-heavy, and Men of War 2 is no different. Each unit has its inventory with weapons, ammo, and utilities. You can swap their weapons in the middle of a mission, find ammo when they run out, or use infantrymen to carry shells.
Vehicles can also be repaired in the same way. Vehicle damaged? Repair the damage. Are you out of ammunition? Fill it back up with your crew or infantry. Tank empty? They can be crewed by your men. It’s nice to be able to change weapons mid-mission. Each weapon has its stats and purpose. It’s even crucial for some missions: in the first mission, you are parachuted behind enemy lines into Normandy to take out two 2cm Flakvierling38. A smart tactician would immediately see an opportunity to silence the crew and then turn the weapon against the second flak and mince its crew.
